Privacy Policy

This privacy notice applies to information that Puerto Rico Medical Defense Insurance Company (PRMD) collects from users of this website. It establishes the minimum information PRMD collects, when and how it might use that information, how it protects it, and the choices you have.

What information does your website collect and how is it used?
PRMD collects information directly from users of its website. We do not share your information with others, except as described here or as required by law.
Information provided by the user: If you complete the contact form on this website, you will be asked to provide certain personal information (full name, phone number, and email address). PRMD also allows customers to file claims through its website, which requests the information from the contact form plus the customer's policy number.
The information you provide via the contact form will be used to respond to your inquiry. Information related to online policy claims will be stored and archived in accordance with the requirements established by the Office of the Commissioner of Insurance of Puerto Rico.
Do not send any confidential or personally identifiable information (social security number, date of birth, driver's license number, or any financial information). By submitting such information, you are doing so at your own risk. PRMD shall not be held liable or responsible for any consequences arising from your submission.
However, as an exception to this rule, the PRMD website provides an optional contact form to collect sensitive and confidential information (primarily social security numbers). This information is necessary to comply with Puerto Rico Act 60 of 2019, which requires PRMD to report insurance premium payments to the Puerto Rico Department of the Treasury.
Third-party services: PRMD may use third-party hosted services, primarily Google Analytics, to understand how visitors use our site. These services may collect information sent by your browser as part of a web page request, including your IP address. If these third-party services collect information, they do so anonymously and in aggregate to provide information useful to us, such as website trends, without identifying individual visitors.
Do Not Track (DNT): PRMD does not track its customers over time or across third-party websites for targeted advertising, and therefore Do Not Track (DNT) signals are not applicable. As previously mentioned, third-party sites track your browsing activities to personalize their content recommendations. When visiting such sites, your web browser should allow you to set a DNT signal so that third parties (especially advertisers) know that you do not want to be tracked.
How is my personal information protected?
PRMD has strict measures and policies in place to protect your personal information from accidental loss or unauthorized access or use.
Who can access my information?
PRMD will not sell, rent, or lease mailing lists or other user data to third parties. We will not share your personal information with unaffiliated third parties except in the following cases:
• To agents, website providers, or contractors who may use it on our behalf or in connection with us.
• As required by law, in matters of public safety or policy, or when necessary in connection with the transfer of our business assets.
How can I correct, modify, or delete my personal information?
Contact us at any time by phone, contact form, or mailing address to:
• Find out what data PRMD has about you, if any;
• Change or correct any data we have about you; or
• Ask us to delete any data we have about you.

If you have any additional questions or concerns regarding this privacy notice, please contact the PRMD Privacy and Security Officer at privacy@prmdic.com.

Should our practices undergo substantial change, PRMD will post the policy changes on this page.
Effective August 30, 2020.
